Dr. Gul J. Nankani passed his MBBS from Grant Medical college, Mumbai in 1988. He  pursued his education in the field of Ophthalmology in Mumbai and Mangalore and passed his MS from Kasturba Medical college in 1992. He continued his training in  Ophthalmology at Moorfields eye hospital, London, which is the largest eye hospital in Europe. He was selected on an exchange programme to UK and was trained at the Royal Free Hospital, London.  He also dis a short term Cornea Fellowship at the prestigious L.V. Prasad Eye hospital, Hyderbad, India.

In the year 1995, Dr. Nankani started his private practice and then set up his ow clinic at Dadar Poly Clinic in 1997. Dadar poly clinic is associated with reknowned names like the eminent physician Dr. K. Ramamoorthy, Prof of ENT, Dr. K. C. Gadre and Phyciatrist Dr. A. P. Patkar.

He has associated with Satyam eye clinic, Sion which was originally started by the well known Ophtthalmologist, Dr. Badlani. Dr. Nankani was offered attachment to the prestigious Lilavati Hospital  and has been a honorary there since the past six years.

Growth is the mantra in life, and Dr. Gul Nankani along with his  Ophthalmologist wife Dr. Sonia Nankani set up the new state of the art Krishna Eye Centre at Sion in the year 2007. Part of his dreams being fulfilled with this new centre, He is already expansion with more branches.

Dr. Gul Nankani is an anterior segment surgeon and specializes in Phacoemulsification Cataract and LASIK refractive  surgery. He has done around 10,000 cataract surgeries and is a pioneer in topical cataract surgery which is no injection surgery and is the most advanced form of cataract surgery in the world today. He has a vast experience of implanting all types of intra ocular lenses including multi focal lenses. He also has interest in Glaucoma, Squint and paedratic ophthalmology.

He has conducted  operative eye camps in Kenya and Lebanon. He is member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology & All India Ophthalmic Society and is a managing committee member of Bombay Ophthalmologist Association since the past 4 years. He has been improving on his skills by regularly attending national and international conferences at USA and Singapore. He is associated with the Lions Club International & Swami Shantiprakash Ashram and helps in many of their charitable activities.Apart from Ophthalmolgy, Dr Nankani has interest in Music, Reading and is an avid traveler all over the globe.
